The Shadwell Turf Mile Stakes is an American grade I Breeders Cup challenge horseracing event that is run each year at Keeneland Race Track. This race is for three years olds and up thoroughbred horses, which is willing to race one mile on the turf track. The race has been run at various distances — from 1986 through 1993, this race used to contest at one and one eighth miles and from 1994 onwards the race has been run at a distance of one mile on the left handed grass track. This race is considered as one of the preparatory races for the Breeders’ Cup Mile. At present, it carries a purse of $600,000.
