He claimed a few horses in partnership with his father and began training them himself. Notes: He was born on May 12, 1964 and attended the Texas Tech University . He was greatly attracted towards horse racing in his childhood days but did not get opportunit y to become a jockey. When he saw that there was no scope for becoming a jockey, he ultimately jumped headlong into training horses. Took out his trainer’s license at Louisiana Downs in 1993 and snatched the first win on April 1st 1994 at Trinity Meadows. He is yet to start in the breeders’ cup or in the Triple Crown races.
