John M. Veitch is a renowned horse trainer of the North American Horseracin g Circuit. His father, Sylvester Veitch, was a US Racing Hall of Fame trainer; he used to assist Elliott Burch at Rokeby Stables before setting up a stable for his own in 1974. Two years later, he started working for Calumet Farm. Veitch gave training to many champion horses including Alydar that defeated Affirmed three times, Devona Dale, champion-t hree-year- old filly of 1978, Sunshion Forever and a lot more. John was honored the position of chief state steward of the Kentucky Horseracin g Authority, as soon as he retired from training in 2003. He was elected to the United States’ Racing Hall of Fame in 2007.
